MINI CAMP #1  - Starts & Turns
(June 12-13th, 2010)

Eligibility Boys and girls ages 9 - 18

PLEASE NOTE - Our Mini Camps can only accommodate 40 swimmers. Please be sure your camper gets a spot by registering early!
Details Mini-Camp #1 will focus entirely on the techniques used by the fastest swimmers in the United States for fast stand-ups and backstroke starts and open and flip-turns.

Housing and Meals
Campers will be housed in University of North Carolina dormitories and meals will be provided by the University of North Carolina and Ram's Head dining hall. All overnight campers will have a roommate unlss the camper wishes to have their own room. There is an additional charge of $25 for a single room. You may indicate your roommate preference on your registration form, otherwise the camp staff will match you with a roommate of the same sex and age.

Schedule
Camp will begin on Saturday, June 12th at 5:30 pm and will conclude on Sunday, June 13th at 10:30 am.

Overnight campers can check in at the dorm beginning at 4:30 pm on Saturday and check out at 10:30 am on Sunday. Training will include include skill work to improve technique, watching video, and classroom chalk talk.

Confirmation A confirmation email will be sent immediately following your registration to confirm your spot in camp. Approximately two weeks prior to the camp start date, you will receive an e-mail from the Camp Director that will include campus maps, camp itinerary, and general info to help make your child's camp experience a memorable one.

Details Our week-long camps focus on a variety of skills and techniques used in all four strokes, starts and turns, and underwater efficiency. Time will be taken each day to work on technique drills for each stroke and then time to utilize these skills. Swimming from the body core will be the main focus of our camps.
Housing and Meals Overnight campers will be housed in University of North Carolina dorms. The dorm is air conditioned and monitored 24/7 by camp staff and security personnel provided by the UNC Housing service. The dormitory is located directly between the Koury Natatorium and the Ram's Head Dining Hall and is an easy walk for the campers. Campers must bring their own bed linens for a twin bed or sleeping bag, blankets, pillows and toiletries. Overnight campers may choose their roomates by indicating the campers name on the registration form. All campers will be housed with a roomate.
Schedule
Camp will begin on Sunday, June 13th at 2:15 p.m. and will conclude on Thursday, June 17th at 11:45 am.

Swimmers enrolled in the Day Camp will start at 8:30 a.m. each morning and complete their day at approximately 5:00 p.m.
 
Training sessions are geared to each swimmer's age and ability. Schedules include morning and afternoon training sessions, stroke technique instruction with film review, dryland training, classroom education, and organized social activities.

Details Mini-Camp #2 will focus on some of the techniques used by America's top freestylers and backstrokers including a heavy focus on core body balance and effective underwater kicking.
