Eric Stefanski begins his third year as the sprint coach for the Carolina swimming program this year. During his second season, Stefanski had a productive year with the Tar Heel sprinters. Sophomore Tommy Wyher was ACC champion and broke the ACC conference records in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke. Christy Garth will enter her second season as an assistant coach for the Carolina Men and Women's Swimming Team this year. Garth was added as the fifth full-time member of the Carolina Swimming coaching staff in September 2008. Garth, a 1996 alumnus of the University of North Carolina and a four year letter-winner on the Carolina swim team, brings excitement, experience and depth to the coaching staff.

Ryan Woodruff had a strong first season as the head coach of the North Carolina Aquatic Club. NCAC earned Silver Medal Recognition from USA Swimming for the third year in a row and took eleven swimmers to U.S. Olympic Trials in June. Sean Quinn

The Tar Heel school record holder in the 200-yard breaststroke, 100-meter breaststroke and 200-meter breaststroke, Sean Quinn, will begin his first official year as an assistant coach for the Carolina swimming program. Quinn was a volunteer coach for six previous seasons. In 2006-07, Quinn played a key role in the Carolina women capturing the ACC championship.
