In 2012, we will offer two one-week camps:

GENERAL INFO
The Carolina Swim camp is a technique based camp focused on developing and enhancing the training and racing skills of Competitive Swimmers. Each day of camp will focus on one of the four competitive swimming strokes with a technique session in the morning and a workout session focusing on technique in the afternoon. For those intersted in extra training, an additional third (optional) swimming session is available each early morning. In addition, our camp will focus on the technical skills needed for starts, turns and relay exchanges.
Each camper is linked with campers of similar ability based on a 100-yard freestyle time (eg. 1:00.55). Each group will be taught and practice skills appropriate for that ability. We do our best to have a 10:1 camper to coach ratio, with highly energetic coaches from the UNC staff and great coaches from around the United States.
TALENT SHOW - with such a great turnout in 2011, we will be bringing back the talent show on the last night of camp. Bring props and get ready to show camp your talents! The talent show will be held on the last evening of camp each week.
ELIGIBILITY
Male and female swimmers ages 8-18 are welcome. It is highly encouraged that swimmers have a competitive swimming background who attend.
AVAILABILITY
Our camps are available on a first come - first serve basis. To reserve your spot for camp a non-refundable deposit of $100 is required at time of registration. The deposit will be incorporated into your full registration fee. The deposit is due at the time of registration by check or online payment by credit card. Your spot will not be reserved until your registration has been completed and your deposit has been received. Each session is limited to 110 campers.
CAMP FEES
Overnight campers fee is $595 per session.
Commuter campers fee is $459 per session.
Airport transfer fee is $40.
Discounts are available for multiple family members and five or more campers from the same team for overnight camp only.
Sibling discount: 1st child regular price. Each additional child $545.
Team discount: Five (5) or more campers from the same team, each camper $545.
The balance of camp fees is due by May 15th. The balance may be paid by credit card (online) or sending a check or money order made payable to "Carolina Swim Camp" to the following address:

ROOM AND BOARD
Overnight campers are housed in University of North Carolina dorms close to Koury Natatorium. The dorm consists of suites of two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower, housing two campers per bedroom and four campers per suite. Male and female campers are housed on separate floors within the dorm with same sex counselors and coaches on each respective floor. The dorm is air-conditioned and has a lounge with a couch and tv on each floor. Our dorms are locked 24/7 with security and our coaches and counselors are with the campers to supervise 24/7.
Campers are more than welcome to request a specific roommate. Please be specific on your registration form with whom you would like to share a room or suite with including the additional campers names and team name.
Campers will need to bring bedding for a twin size bed, pillows and any additional bedding your camper likes to have with them.

MEDICAL FORMS AND MEDICAL INFORMATION
A physician's permission form stating that the camper has the physical ability to participate in camp as well as a parental waiver statement are both required for a camper to participate in our camps. These forms must be completed within eight months prior to the start date of whichever session of camp the camper will be attending. A copy of a sports physical form may be used in lieu of the physicians permission form. Both forms can be downloaded on the left and may be brought with you when you check in on the first day of camp.
The Carolina Swim Camp will have a UNC sports trainer available 24/7 should any medical issues arise. Should a camper need to be seen by a UNC medical doctor during camp, please be aware that the campers parents will be billed directly for any charges outside of their family primary insurance coverage. In the event that a medical issue does arise, the Carolina Swim Camp will inform the campers parent by phone immediately and our medical staff will take care of the issue.
By signing the medical waiver statement, please be aware that the Carolina Swim Camp, the University of North Carolina and the UNC Health Care System are not liable should a medical issue arise.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation from and to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport is provided for a fee of $40 round trip and $20 one-way. Parent's will need to provide Eric Stefanski at estefanski@uncaa.unc.edu with the campers flight itinerary approx. two (2) weeks prior to the campers arrival. Eric will provide the parents with the contact info for the staff member picking up your child at the airport.
PARKING, DROPPING OFF AND PICKING UP
Parking is extremely limited on campus. On Sunday June 10th and Sunday July 8th when checking-in for camp, you may park in the lot directly across the street from Koury Natatorium. When checking into the dorm, parking is available at Ram's parking deck by the football stadium. Additional parking may be available. If it should become available, campers parent's will be emailed that location prior to the camp start date.
During the week, parents may drop their child off in front of Koury Natatorium and pick them up there as well. We will have staff members available to wait with the campers while they wait to be picked up each evening. Parent's are encouraged to park at one of the meters across the street from the pool in the mornings and walk their child into the building.
Parking on Thursday June 14 and Thursday July 12 will be available at the Ram's parking deck by the football stadium. This lot is approx. 1/2 mile from Koury Natatorium.
CAMP MERCHANDISE
Carolina Swim Camp and UNC Swimming gear is available both online and at our camp store at Koury Natatorium during our weeks of camp. Please note that items for sale online will be available at our camp store during the first and last day of camp along with items not available online. Our online store may have items for immediate purchase year round or for purchase and pick-up during camp.
